As of 1st of January 2017, the citizens of certain countries – the countries in question are listed below – can enter Kazakhstan without visa and remain there for 30 days. It does not matter whether this is a touristic, business or private trip. You can find more information on this theme on the page of the embassy of Kazakhstan in Berne.

Kazakhstan attempts to lure more tourists to the country and tries to make the environment for businesspeople and investors more attractive.

Citizens of the following countries can enter Kazakhstan without visa, as of 1st of January 2017:

Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Great Britain, Estonia, Italy, Ireland, Israel, Iceland, Canada, Korea, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hungary, United States, Finland, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan and Cyprus

Without visa to Kazakhstan. What do I need to watch?

The passport has to be valid for at least 3 months after the return trip. It is important to register at the migration police within, at the latest, 5 days after entry. You need to complete a white migration card, which will be assigned in the plane or is available in the 12 international airports. If you enter the border on road, you need to find an office of the migration police within 5 days for the registration./p>

For stays longer than 30 days, you need to apply for a visa. Information on the visa for Kazakhstan is available here.

Please note that, in case of a transit via Russia to Kazakhstan, you need to have a transit visa for Russia. This is also the case if you travel to Kazakhstan via Belarus.
