More trouble, higher costs. Oman, one of the most popular destinations on the Arabian peninsula, tightens its entry requirements. The convenient short-term visa for 10 days does no longer exist. Instead travelers from abroad have to apply for a 1-month visa, which is considerably more expensive, with its 60 CHF. Even more expensive are visas for business travelers, who would like to enter the state multiple times. They pay over 100 CHF. The visa is issued upon entry and does not have to be requested in advance. This is also the case for the neighbor Qatar. The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers more information on travelling to Oman.
